The M77 is a 2 piece floorplate design. The trigger guard and hinged plate are two separate pieces. The front takedown screw goes into the stock at an angle. So there is an angled cut in the bottom of the stock for the hinged plate. The trigger guard is held down with two screws.
Measurement between takedown screws:
LA - 7 3/4"
SA - 7 1/8”
The short action stock has a small half-round cut for the takedown screw, whereas the long action has a hold drilled through.
All M77 stocks are inletted for the "A" taper barrel.
If you have an older M77 with a Tang Safety, unfortunately, our M77 stocks will not fit. Tang Safetys are located behind the bolt, on top of the rifle as opposed to the side, and look like a small flap of metal. See here for a side-by-side comparison of safetys.
