Winchester Model 70 Gunstocks

The Winchester Model 70 LA/SA is offered in three (3) configurations: one piece floorplate, two piece floorplate, and bling mag.

One Piece Floorplate - The trigger guard and hinge plate are one piece. The action is held down with two screws: one in the front takedown hole and one in the rear takedown hole. The bottom of the stock is machined deeper for the one piece floorplate. At the front of the floorplate recess, where the hinge plate is screwed down, the depth of the recess measures a little over 5/16".

Two Piece Floorplate - The trigger guard is separate from the hinge plate. The action is held down with three screws: two through the trigger guard and one through the hinge plate ahead of the magazine pocket. The bottom of the stock is not machined as deep for the two piece floorplate as it is for the one piece. At the front of the floorplate recess, where the hinge plate is screwed down, the depth of the recess measures a little over 1/8". There is a half round cut in the magazine pocket to allow for the takedown screw. The one piece stock does not have this cut.

Blind Mag - The Winchester blind mag is similar to the Remington ADL style stock. There is no through hole for the magazine. The bottom of the stock is inletted for the trigger guard. The blind mag has an escutcheon in the stock for the front takedown screw. The action is held down with three screws: two through the trigger guard and one through the escutcheon. The Winchester 70 blind mag has a "D" shape cutout (similar to the Remington ADL). The "D" shape cutout has an extra half round cut out to allow for the screw to pass.

Measurement between takedown screws:

SA - 7 1/16"

LA - 7 9/16"
